At Auto Expo 2023 happening in India, brands including Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai Motor and MG Motor showcased their metaverse experiences and created \u2018digital twins\u2019 of their own Auto Expo floors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Maruti also announced the Expoverse, its third attempt at creating a metaverse environment for its users after the Nexa-verse in July 2022, and Arena-verse in December. The first two metaverse experiences for India\u2019s largest car manufacturer were similar to virtual car colour and configuration simulators and were made available across its showrooms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
South Korea-based Hyundai Motor, which is India\u2019s second-largest car company by market share, showcased its own metaverse experience at the 2023 Auto Expo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
MG Motor launched MGverse, a platform built in partnership with the metaverse environment platform Metrodome. While the Expo is one part of MG\u2019s metaverse experience, the company\u2019s overall experience includes a virtual test drive, interior and exterior configurators, and the prospect of converting users\u2019 interests to sales through the MGverse platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe have worked with Metadome, and used Unreal Engine to create the metaverse experience. The platform has plenty of scope to drive commerce to us, because the journey of a customer through the platform is significantly more engaging,” Gaurav Gupta, chief operating officer, MG Motor India, said at the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While the buzz around metaverse experiences has cooled, the company has been working on the platform for a long time, he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
