Johnny Depp has donated the proceeds from an NFT sale to four charities, including the Children\u2019s Hospital of Los Angeles, which has ties to Amber Heard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Here’s what we know:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Wednesday (6 July), Depp\u2019s Never Fear Truth NFT (non-fungible token) platform announced that it had raised \u201cnearly $800,000 (\u00a3666,530) in total donations,\u201d which was split between four organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The tweet went on to name the beneficiaries: \u201cPerth Children\u2019s Hospital Foundation (via CAF America), Great Ormond Street Hospital Children\u2019s Charity (via CAF America), The Footprint Coalition, [and] the Children\u2019s Hospital of Los Angeles.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Of these four, the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles has ties with Ms. Heard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Launched this January, the \u201cNever Fear Truth\u201d collection features 3,850 NFTs depicting artwork Depp labels at the nexus of pop and street art, reusing pop culture images of prominent figures in our media ecosystem like Heath Ledger, Hunter S. Thompson, Tim Burton, Elizabeth Taylor, Lily-Rose Depp, Al Pacino, and River Phoenix.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
More than 600 of the NFTs in his collection are images of Depp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
