China Mobile Hong Kong (CMHK), a leading mobile carrier, has announced a significant milestone in the digital landscape with the launch of its pioneering NFT marketplace, LinkNFT. This groundbreaking development coincides with the massive success of its MyLink lifestyle app, which has garnered over 7 million users, showcasing the company’s innovative approach to integrating cutting-edge technologies into everyday life.

Here’s what we know:

LinkNFT emerges as a versatile platform, offering NFT creation, trading, and circulation services, primarily targeting enterprises. Built on advanced blockchain protocols such as Ethereum, the platform is designed for seamless operation across various Web3 networks. It uses an innovative trio of cross-chain standards, including a web3 Center cross-chain service protocol, a cross-chain adapter, and a cross-chain smart contract, to ensure fluid interoperability in the digital space.

One of the standout features of LinkNFT is its integration with MyLink’s digital wallet, “LinKey.” This exclusive wallet bridges Web3 assets, like Ethereum NFTs, with conventional apps, providing users in Hong Kong with convenient access to their digital assets. This integration represents a significant step in making digital asset management more accessible and user-friendly.

CMHK’s foray into the NFT space is marked by its collaboration with over 30 entities, resulting in the release of more than 30 exclusive NFTs on the LinkNFT platform. This includes 20 unique NFTs from the MyLink ArLink series and 15 others in association with various publishers and music platforms like Migu Music. The ambitious goal to mint over 500,000 NFTs reflects CMHK’s commitment to driving innovation in the NFT market.

Moreover, the company has upgraded MyLink’s Metaverse digital space to a comprehensive 3D immersive experience, transforming it into a virtual representation of Hong Kong. This virtual city allows citizens to build digital homes, engage in various activities like virtual tours and shopping, and convert their Meta IDs into NFTs. This enhancement not only enriches the user experience but also fosters a unique digital community within the Web3 ecosystem.

Tan Hui, Executive Director of MyLink, highlighted the venture’s potential, stating it would enable businesses to offer new consumer rights through various NFTs while users can enjoy the benefits of collectible and circulation value.

This strategic move by CMHK underscores its vision to drive the development of Hong Kong’s Web3.0 ecosystem and pioneer new business models. As a leader in the telecom sector, CMHK is aligning with China’s broader strategy to support the advancement of Web3 technologies, reflecting the country’s commitment to fostering a digitally enriched future.
