EMURGO, the official commercial arm and a founding entity of the Cardano blockchain, today announced the company and its Cardano NFT marketplace Fibo have joined ImpactNFT Alliance to support the cross-promotion of “Impact NFTs.”
The ImpactNFT Alliance is a next-generation association of organizations using NFTs to ignite and accelerate the environmentally-friendly impact of Web3 projects through the pursuit of the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which include climate targets and social goals such as fair access to education and gender equality.
“Impact NFTs” are designed to fund positive social, cultural, and sustainable development, or “impact investing.” As NFTs, these transactions can be recorded on a decentralized blockchain and verifiably tracked by anyone to prove that funding has gone towards SDGs.
As a founding entity of the Cardano blockchain, EMURGO’s mission is to create impactful solutions on Cardano’s environmentally-sustainable blockchain platform.
Fibo is an NFT marketplace built by EMURGO that leverages Cardano’s blockchain to offer a one-stop-shop for socially conscious artists and collectors to create a positive social impact and transact Cardano NFTs.
Through this alliance membership, EMURGO will enable opportunities for its Fibo NFT artists and collectors to also display their NFTs with ImpactNFT Alliance’s physical art exhibitions & events, as well as gain access to their social impact network for future potential NFT collaborations and exclusive drops. Impact Alliance’s partner organizations and Impact NFT artists would have opportunities to leverage Fibo’s Cardano NFT marketplace and reach the broader Cardano community.
